In December 2021 the Lord started speaking to me about how it is time for the double portion...Now, I do not know about you but I have been asking for God's double portion for years and boy have I received both in suffering and in joy. Yet, this time the Lord was once again saying it is time for the double portion... Therefore, on the night of the 23rd of December after receiving multiple confirmation through signs that this was the season of double portion, I looked up double portion in the bible and the first scripture that came up was 1 Samuel. Although I have received this word from the Lord more than once in my life, this time I saw something different which I haven't seen before...
Hannah could not have children and was provoked by Peninnah (Elkanah's 2nd wife) but Hannah was deeply loved by Elkanah and because he loved her, he would give her a double portion of the sacrificial meat every year. However, this specific year the double portion would not be enough as Hannah was seeking what Elkanah could not give as only God can give life...not man.
And she was desperately seeking life as she was slowly dying because of hope deferred...
Proverbs 13:12-14 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition
12 Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when the desire is fulfilled, it is a tree of life.
As I read the scripture of 1 Samuel, the following was revealed in my spirit:
We are entering a season within this new Era, where God will be hearing and answering the silent cries of the "Hannah's" by bringing life into "her" dire situation and that "she" will be known as a tree of life for life will flow from her. However, I also know that this will be because "she" has committed to offering her first promise to God, so that "he" may be raised in the house of the Lord and used by God, for His glory.
Many of us have sacrificed for years, trusting that God will receive our sacrifice by answering our prayers but God is seeking our offering more than our sacrifice...
Sacrifice is done as an act of atonement whereas offering is done as an act of gratitude towards God.
Having said the above, what was your first promise received after having sacrificed for so many years before you saw your promise fulfilled? Was it your husband, child, business or ministry and are you willing to give back to God in full as an offering what He first gave you, so that He may use him/her/it for His glory?
The AMAZING part is that after Hannah offered Samuel to God, she was given five more children as it is a Godly principle to give in order to receive more.
Even though the covenant was sealed by the birth of Samuel, the effect [grace (the free and unmerited favour of God) and authority ] of the covenant in Hannah's life was released through the offering of Samuels life to God by completely surrendering him to God.
If you are reading this post, I believe that the Holy Spirit has led you here because you are facing death (whether spiritually, emotionally, physically or financially) and have to make one of the biggest choices in your life...do you hold on to the first promise fulfilled by God or do you give it back to Him, so that He may use him/her/it for his glory and my prayer over you regarding this is that you will let go and let God by trusting Him and His ways knowing that you will reap the fruit of the seed that you are now sowing.
In addition to this I pray that you will be blessed with the revelation that I received from the Lord in 2013:
"...it is better to hold on to the One who makes the covenant than to the covenant as the One who makes the covenant is the only One that can fulfil the covenant not the covenant in itself..."
This revelation has changed my life in Him forever more!
Take note that He said: HOLD and not KEEP...there is a BIG DIFFERENCE between the two.
A Covenant only stands for as long as the one who made it lives...now even though God lives forever more, the question is:
IS GOD STILL ALIVE IN YOUR LIFE TODAY (part of your life) or are you just keeping Him on reserve in case of emergency or when your life depends on it?
May the One with whom you have entered into covenant with, remain the One to whom your heart and devotion belongs and may all that you surrender to Him be from a place of gratitude instead of constantly seeking atonement.
